I am not new to Christianity but I am fairly new to being a Christian. I went to church with my parents when I was younger and was raised learning bible stories, but I had no idea of what it was all for. Over time we stopped going to church, and with no real perception of faith, I didn’t question why as I did not fully understand how a life with God would be any different.
This past year has been tough for me, and it left me feeling lost and unsure of where I was heading. My flatmate is a Christian and encouraged me to go to a lunch bar, then Christianity Explored, then Equip and then Church. I learnt more about Jesus and what living a Christian life can offer, and gradually I rediscovered my faith.
I never expected my life to change the way it has by becoming a Christian. Finding God again means I no longer feel like I am going through things alone as He walks with me each day and gives me the strength I need. He has made me feel whole again when I didn’t even realise there was a part of me missing. He loves me despite the mistakes I have made, and He made the greatest sacrifice so that I could have an everlasting relationship with Him. And for this I am forever grateful.
