I echo Bear Grylls, who says “My Christian Faith is the backbone of my life”. Being brought up in a Christian family, I was surrounded by close Christian friends. I knew God existed and knew him as a friend. As I have a sceptical mind, I would question the unbelievable stories I heard in the Gospel and struggled with many of the harder questions of faith.

Since being confirmed, I’ve got to know God better and to understand my identity as a child of God. Practising the presence of God and taking the time to be peaceful is so helpful - because once I discovered who He is – why would I want to dwell anywhere else?

Christianity isn’t about rules and guidelines, it’s about a deep-rooted thankfulness to the One who gave it all. It is because I am so loved, that I wish to live my life in a way that honours him. Knowing Jesus is so empowering, no longer do we need to fear anything - For in Jesus, we know where our power comes from! We are undeserving of God’s love: He loves us even though we don’t deserve it.

God knows us absolutely, forgives us profusely and loves us unconditionally. He wants relationship with us despite our imperfections! He gave his One and only Son to take the place of our sin – so that we can be at-one with the One and true King.
