Having grown up going to church I’ve known about God for as long as I can remember. When I was 17, I came to question my faith. I couldn’t deny God’s existence, but I didn’t know if I wanted him to be part of my life anymore. I didn’t know whether I trusted him anymore. There came a point where I realised that God would never force his way into my life; I had to choose whether I wanted God or not.

That night a friend prayed for me and something changed. It might sound odd to say that a prayer changed everything, but I believe there is power in prayer. I believe that God hears us and he cares. He loves us and he wants the best for us. That evening I chose to follow Jesus again; I chose to have God in my life.

Since then I have known God to be faithful and good. He has shown me love like no other and cared for me in times of uncertainty. I still experience doubt and faith isn’t always easy. It is hard to trust God with everything. But through it all there is something about Jesus that I find compelling. His life, death and resurrection have either changed everything or it is all a farce. Either way, I think it’s worth taking time to think about and come to your own conclusion.

I came to the conclusion that Jesus is worth it all. He has changed my life forever.
