I was fortunate enough to be sent to a Christian primary school at a young age, even though my parents are not Christians. At that age, I didn’t really understand the meaning behind the stories about Jesus and just simply treated them as any other stories. My class teacher even gave me a Bible as a gift before leaving the school, but Christianity just wasn’t something I considered at that time.
Until the summer before I started university, I began a relationship with my girlfriend, who is a Christian. She brought me to her church in Hong Kong, and all the stories I heard in primary school became much more personal. I felt like Jesus has been working in me and hasn’t forgotten me throughout these years.
I started to explore more about my faith when I came to Bristol. Since then, I have been surrounded by God’s grace and love, not to mention the wonderful brothers and sisters I met through Christ. I knew there is someone who is always available to listen to me when I am weak, and giving me the best solutions to problems that seems unsolvable. Embracing the honour of being a child of God, my life became more fulfilled and guiltless, and that’s what makes me want to follow Jesus every day!
