Jack // 2nd year // Geography

I had been curious about God for several years before coming to Bristol, but never thought I needed Him. He seemed like someone I could learn about later, after the more exciting things in life. My life seemed fine, and so I decided not to think about it until I came to uni.

Once here, I started learning about God, His compassion and love. I learned about Jesus, His death on the cross for me and resurrection. I started reading the Bible; it seemed great, but at first I didn’t believe what I was reading. Slowly, through conversations I had with friends, and doing my own research, I found the logic of God’s existence became stronger, and I felt myself coming around to faith.

Since then, I have been far more confident about life and the future. I am comforted by God’s presence, and no longer have to rely on my own abilities. It is not a chore to have a relationship with Him, rather a source of strength, guidance and peace.
