JAMES // 1st YEAR - MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Before following Jesus, I often looked to my grandparents for support. They displayed compassion and joy such that I was drawn to them – and they would always tell me about Jesus.

For ages, I lapped up what I heard, but after a time of grief my family fell apart and bitterness flourished. I numbed the pain with pornography only to find myself hurting more deeply than ever. One particular morning I went to Church feeling unable to believe in a forgiving God. One of the elders shared with me how God’s grace is given freely to all through Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross, but that I would have to submit to Jesus to receive the fullness of His grace.

Through my experience of myself and my family, I know that we are all sinful. Jesus came to Earth to heal the sick – and that’s what sin is: a sickness separating us from God. But having established my roots in Jesus, I’m confident that He is healing me daily to become more like Him, and that one day I will spend eternity with Him.

This Good News is for everyone, and I pray that reading my testimony encourages you to accept God’s grace too.
